This 500g Fu brick tea is traditionally crafted in Jingyang, Shaanxi — the birthplace of Fu brick tea in China. Made from spring-harvested tea leaves grown in the Qinling Mountains in 2022, it was pressed into a brick in April 2023.
Unlike the common 800g or 1000g bricks seen in the Chinese market, this version is a smaller, more manageable 500g size, ideal for personal use or as a gift.
The tea is fermented using traditional techniques without any added flour for inoculation. Instead, the unique “golden flowers” (Eurotium cristatum) develop naturally through careful temperature and humidity control during the fermentation process in Jingyang’s native environment.
Each brick is hand-pressed to achieve a balanced density, ensuring easy separation and good preservation of the tea leaves' shape and integrity. When brewed, the tea yields a smooth, mellow taste with a gentle earthy-sweet note, characteristic of well-fermented Fu brick tea.
The tea is wrapped in two protective layers: an inner layer of traditional kraft paper, and an outer layer of thick cotton paper. This helps protect the tea during storage while allowing it to breathe naturally as it ages.
