Join the Tea Community

Our customers and tea friends often gather on The Tea Table, a tea community on Discord originally created by tea enthusiast Liquid Proust in 2020.

Inside the server, members discuss tea, share tasting notes, and help each other learn more about Chinese tea.

Some of our customers have also started a small OrientaLeaf corner there to chat about the teas they’re drinking. If you'd like to meet other tea drinkers and join the conversation, you're warmly welcome to join.

Delicate orchid fragrance meets a soft, mineral-rich body — each sip leaves a clear, lasting aftertaste.

Da Hong Pao, also known as Big Red Robe, is one of the most complex and diverse types of Chinese tea. The taste can vary widely depending on its origin, processing method, and even the specific hillside where it grows. After two years of careful tasting and selection, we finally found a Wuyi rock tea we feel confident to share.

This orchid aroma Da Hong Pao comes from Ruolan Tea Factory in Nanping, Fujian. The family has been crafting Wuyi oolong tea for over 50 years, with three generations involved in the process. Their experience shows in every cup — steady quality, balanced taste, and a clear expression of what makes Da Hong Pao special.

This tea has a floral aroma naturally developed through proper cultivation and traditional roasting. It is not scented with flowers; the orchid-like fragrance comes from high-mountain tea trees grown in a mineral-rich environment and lightly roasted to preserve their natural character.

The dry leaves are tightly rolled and glossy, dark brown to nearly black. When placed in a warm brewing vessel, they release a clean, elegant floral scent. The tea liquor is smooth, full-bodied, and gentle — no bitterness, no harshness. You’ll notice a sweet, lasting aftertaste and a subtle mineral backbone that gives the flavor depth.

This is the kind of tea you can drink often. It’s not flashy or extreme, but it’s steady, comforting, and long-lasting — with clarity in both aroma and taste. If you’re looking for a reliable, authentic Da Hong Pao with natural floral notes, this is a solid place to start.
