Our Purple Rhododendron Tea comes from the Yunnan Tea Research Institute. This institution discovered the Purple Rhododendron tea tree in 1985 and produces our tea, ensuring not only scientific validation but also the highest quality standards in its production. We are proud to offer this professionally recognized tea and aim to provide you with the finest tea experience.

======

This tea is made from the rare Purple Rhododendron "Zi Juan" tea tree variety cultivated by the Tea Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The Purple Rhododendron "Zi Juan" tea tree is a tea tree variety rich in anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are natural pigments with antioxidant effects that can provide multiple health benefits to the human body.

This tea's raw material is "one bud and two or three leaves," with moderate tenderness. The tea cake is black, tight, and thick. After brewing, the tea soup is purple-red, with a strong aroma and a mellow taste.

The Purple Rhododendron tea紫鹃树 tree was discovered in 1985 by scientists from the Yunnan Tea Research Institute in the tea garden of the Kunming Tea Science Institute. At that time, this tea tree's buds, leaves, and stems were all purple, rare among tea tree varieties. Therefore, the scientists named it "Purple Rhododendron." The Purple Rhododendron raw Pu'er tea we sell is also produced by the institution that discovered this tea tree: the Yunnan Tea Research Institute. Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea is a rare Yunnan Pu'er tea, a mutated variety of the Yunnan large-leaf tea tree population. Its buds, leaves, and stems are all purple, hence the name "Purple Rhododendron."

Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea has a unique taste and aroma. Its soup color is light purple, clear, and bright. The aroma is rich, with pine nuts and floral notes. The flavor is mellow, with a lasting sweetness and a unique bitter-sweet taste. The most prominent feature of this tea is that the original leaves are rich in anthocyanins, which uniquely protect eyesight.

The efficacy of Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea is similar to that of other Pu'er teas, with effects such as refreshing the mind, reducing fat and losing weight, antioxidants, and delaying aging.

Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea is a rare production with a high price, making it a treasure among Pu'er teas.

Varietal Characteristics The Purple Rhododendron tea tree belongs to the Yunnan large-leaf tea tree variety. Still, its buds, leaves, and stems are purple due to its high content of anthocyanins. The Purple Rhododendron tea tree is resistant and adapts well to environmental conditions.

Quality Characteristics Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea has unique quality characteristics. Its dry leaves are purple-brown, oily, and shiny; the soup color is light purple, clear, and bright; the aroma is rich, with pine nut and floral notes; the taste is mellow, with a lasting sweetness and a unique bitter-sweet taste.

Collectible Value Purple Rhododendron Pu'er tea is a treasure among Pu'er teas. It is produced only rarely and is highly-priced, making it extremely collectible.

This tea consists of two tea cakes, each weighing 52 grams, for a total weight of 104 grams. It is made entirely of tender buds and is rich in anthocyanins, so the taste is slightly bitter compared to regular raw Pu'er tea, and the amount of tea used can be reduced appropriately.

We have launched two packaging specifications: One is the compressed version in the shape of thin cakes or discs, weighing 52 grams each for 2 pieces. The other type is the conventional tea cake, weighing 357 grams.

These two teas have the same quality and taste. The disc-shaped tea cakes can be broken apart directly by hand and are packaged in an exquisite paper box.
