Lincang sits between 23°05' and 25°03' north latitude, 98°40' to 100°32' east longitude, at elevations commonly exceeding 1,400 meters, with many garden plots reaching 1,800 to 2,400 meters above sea level. The climate is mild, the air is clean, and the large-leaf cultivar grown here has a reputation for producing raw pu-erh that ages with particular depth and structure.
That spring harvest was processed using traditional Sheng Pu-erh methods — sun-withered, wok-fired (杀青, Shā Qīng) to halt oxidation, then sun-dried into loose mao cha (毛茶, Máo Chá).
