7572 is the starting point of Menghai Tea Factory's ripe puerh journey — the factory's first standard ripe puerh recipe, created in 1975 when the wo-dui (pile fermentation) technique was first mastered at the factory. The recipe code "7572" denotes its creation year (1975), the main material grade (7), and the Menghai Tea Factory identifier (2). Using grade 7 robust tea leaves as the primary material with golden tips for the surface layer, 7572 has been in continuous production for over four decades. It is widely regarded as "the benchmark for evaluating ripe puerh quality" and is often recommended as the first ripe puerh for those learning to appreciate the category.
Batch 2201 was released in 2022 as the first 7572 production of that year. The tea has been stored in our Xi'an dry storage since dispatch from the factory, under natural storage conditions that allow its character to develop steadily.
The tea yields a reddish-brown liquor with a rich caramel aroma and pronounced sweet fragrance. On the palate, it is mellow and full-bodied — sweet, smooth, and viscous, with the distinctive Menghai character evident throughout. The cup retains a lingering sugary aroma. Good steeping longevity makes it suitable for both daily drinking and guided tasting sessions.
