This is a set of Ru Ware Gaiwan with the theme of plants painted in the traditional Chinese painting style. 

• In Chinese culture, Persimmons are considered lucky. The word "persimmon" sounds like "Things," which means good things will happen as you wish and everything will be satisfactory.
• Camellias symbolize modesty, ideal love, virtue, and loveliness. They are also used to praise people with noble morality and elegant temperaments.
• The lotus, also known as the water lily, has a rich meaning in Chinese culture. It symbolizes purity, nobility, integrity, and luck. In Buddhism, the lotus is also seen as a symbol of sacredness and purity.
• Magnolias are often symbols of nobility, purity, and gratitude. When they bloom, their large and beautiful flowers give people an elegant and noble feeling.

The artist uses a Chinese brush and traditional Chinese painting techniques to depict simple yet vivid plants on porcelain, which can be regarded as a work of art.

The Gaiwan set with a cup and a saucer is generally called the Three-in-One Cup(三才杯, Three Talented Cup). The cup lid, the covered bowl, and the cup saucer represent heaven, earth, and human beings, respectively. The combination of the three pieces also implies the harmony and unity of heaven, earth, and human beings.
