Join the Tea Community

Our customers and tea friends often gather on The Tea Table, a tea community on Discord originally created by tea enthusiast Liquid Proust in 2020.

Inside the server, members discuss tea, share tasting notes, and help each other learn more about Chinese tea.

Some of our customers have also started a small OrientaLeaf corner there to chat about the teas they’re drinking. If you'd like to meet other tea drinkers and join the conversation, you're warmly welcome to join.

This pre-Guyu green tea from Ziyang is enriched with selenium, a trace mineral known to support the immune system. It is grown in the Qinling Mountains and contains higher levels of selenium than other teas. Enjoy the sweet, refreshing flavor of this health-supportive tea.

Ziyang Selenium-enriched Green Tea(Pre-Guyu) 2023 spring tea is loaded with beneficial selenium, offering immunity-boosting antioxidant protection. It is also rich in polyphenols and amino acids, which help improve alertness and mental clarity while promoting metabolism to support weight loss. Enjoy all the benefits of green tea with the added value of selenium enrichment.

"Guyu" is one of the twenty-four solar terms, typically occurring around April 19th or 20th each year. The green tea harvested before Guyu is considered to possess distinct qualities. This is attributed to the tea bushes entering a period of vigorous growth, with fresh shoots and tender leaves gradually unfolding during this time.

Green tea picked just before Qingming is revered as the highest quality, commanding the highest prices due to its exceptionally limited yield. In comparison, the green tea harvested before Guyu has slightly fewer buds than the Qingming tea. Additionally, its leaves are larger than those of Qingming tea, resulting in a quality that is somewhat inferior but still far superior to that of summer green tea.
