It serves as the boundary between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Hengduan Mountains. This remote region, "one of the remotest and untouched places in all Yunnan," is where our yellow tea originates. The artificially cultivated ancient tree tea in Ailao Mountain is mainly distributed in the virgin forest within the range of 2,100 to 2,500 meters above sea level. The tea trees are bathed frequently in mist and dew and benefit from the high-altitude sunshine.
