Join the Tea Community

Our customers and tea friends often gather on The Tea Table, a tea community on Discord originally created by tea enthusiast Liquid Proust in 2020.

Inside the server, members discuss tea, share tasting notes, and help each other learn more about Chinese tea.

Some of our customers have also started a small OrientaLeaf corner there to chat about the teas they’re drinking. If you'd like to meet other tea drinkers and join the conversation, you're warmly welcome to join.

A legendary Chinese green tea, crafted from leaf-only selections and perfected with the unique “three-fire” roasting method.

Why You’ll Love This Tea

  • Unique Leaf-Only Selection – Unlike most green teas that use buds, Lu’an Guapian is crafted solely from tender single leaves, giving it a thick, mellow taste and exceptional durability.
  • Rich & Distinct Flavor – Smooth, refreshing, with orchid fragrance and roasted chestnut notes; a bright, clear liquor with lingering sweetness.
  • True Cultural Heritage – One of China’s Top Ten Famous Teas, once chosen as Imperial Tribute during the Qing Dynasty.
  • Handcrafted by Masters – Produced by tea artisan Huang Shehua, with over 30 years of experience, preserving the authentic three-fire roasting craft.
  • Versatile & Valuable – A premium choice for daily enjoyment, yet elegant enough for gifting or collecting.

The Story Behind Lu’an Guapian

Lu’an Guapian (六安瓜片), literally “Melon Seed Tea,” takes its name from its shape—each leaf resembles a sunflower seed after the bud and stem are removed. This rare practice of using only single leaves, combined with a meticulous three-step roasting process (raw pan, cooked pan, and basket roasting), creates a tea unlike any other in China.

Grown in the misty Dabie Mountains of Anhui Province at 600–800 meters altitude, this tea benefits from fertile soils and cool, humid air, which nurture thick, flavorful leaves. Historical records trace its fame back to the Tang and Song Dynasties, while during the Qing Dynasty it was revered as an Imperial Tribute. To sip Lu’an Guapian is not only to taste tea—it is to experience centuries of culture, craftsmanship, and nature in harmony.

Why This Tea Stands Out

While most high-grade green teas prize delicate buds, Lu’an Guapian’s identity comes from its bold choice: no buds, no stems, only strong single leaves. This makes it thicker, more enduring to multiple infusions, and uniquely satisfying. It balances quality and accessibility—rare enough to impress connoisseurs, yet versatile enough for everyday refinement.

Don’t Miss Out

Our First Grade Lu’an Guapian is sourced directly from trusted tea farmers in Anhui, with limited seasonal harvests to ensure freshness. Whether for personal enjoyment, as a refined gift, or as part of your tea collection, this is a green tea that speaks of authenticity, tradition, and lasting flavor.
