A bold and mineral-rich Rou Gui from Wuyi’s core cliff zone—offering deep cinnamon aroma, layered strength, and long-lasting rock rhyme.

From the cliffs of Hu Xiao Yan, a Rou Gui that speaks with strength and depth.

This specialty Wuyi Rou Gui is harvested from Hu Xiao Yan (虎啸岩, Whistling Cliff), one of the core growing areas within Wuyi’s Zhengyan (true cliff) zone. The rocky terrain, balanced sunlight, and mineral-rich soil give this tea a distinctive energy—complex, concentrated, and resonant.

Rou Gui is a celebrated varietal among Wuyi Rock Teas, known for its cinnamon-like spice and full-bodied texture. When grown in an iconic cliff garden like Hu Xiao Yan, the tea becomes even more expressive, combining signature Rou Gui intensity with profound cliff character.

Aroma
Expect a grounded mix of cinnamon spice, dry wood, and caramelized sweetness. The scent is strong but calm—nothing sharp or artificial. The cliff’s unique microclimate adds a deep, clean mineral undertone.

Taste
From the first steep, the tea shows strength: the liquor is thick, focused, and muscular. As the session progresses, the mouthfeel grows broader and rounder. Mid steeps (4–6) are rich and layered, while later infusions reveal increasing softness and lingering sweetness. Every sip finishes with a long-lasting mineral vibration—the unmistakable Yan Yun (rock rhyme).

Energy
This tea creates a strong inner warmth and clarity. It’s the kind of tea you feel in your chest and throat—warming, centering, and deeply grounding.

Durability
Quality Zhengyan Rou Gui often brews well past 8 infusions. This one stays stable and flavorful through 9–10 steeps, with both aroma and taste enduring to the end.

Craft & Origin
Sourced from Ruo Lan Tea Factory, a family-run workshop in Nanping with over 50 years of experience in making traditional Wuyi teas. Harvested in spring 2024 and charcoal-roasted the same season.

This Hu Xiao Yan Rou Gui is a tea for those who enjoy structure, depth, and the subtle power of Wuyi’s true cliff teas.
