Join the Tea Community

Our customers and tea friends often gather on The Tea Table, a tea community on Discord originally created by tea enthusiast Liquid Proust in 2020.

Inside the server, members discuss tea, share tasting notes, and help each other learn more about Chinese tea.

Some of our customers have also started a small OrientaLeaf corner there to chat about the teas they’re drinking. If you'd like to meet other tea drinkers and join the conversation, you're warmly welcome to join.

One of China’s most iconic teas, celebrated for its leaf-only craft and signature fire-roasting process.

Why You’ll Love This Tea

  • Authentic Origin – Directly sourced from Lu’an, Anhui Province, the birthplace of China’s famous Guapian tea.
  • Unique Leaf-Only Craft – Unlike most green teas made with buds, Guapian is hand-crafted from single tender leaves, creating a thicker body and longer-lasting flavor.
  • Signature Three-Fire Process – Traditional sheng guo (raw pan), shu guo (ripe pan), and hong lou (basket roasting) deliver an elegant orchid fragrance and chestnut sweetness.
  • Rich, Smooth Flavor – Full-bodied yet refreshing, with a clean bright liquor, mellow sweetness, and a long, lingering aftertaste.
  • Perfect Balance of Quality & Value – Second Grade offers the same authentic heritage and brewing endurance as top grades, but at a more approachable daily-drinking price.

A Tea Steeped in History

Lu’an Guapian (六安瓜片) is one of China’s Ten Famous Teas, renowned for its unique craft and cultural heritage. Unlike other green teas that highlight young buds, Guapian leaves are carefully stripped of buds and stems, leaving only plump single leaves shaped like melon seeds—hence its name. This rare method, combined with the traditional three-fire roasting, produces a tea of remarkable depth: orchid-like fragrance, chestnut undertones, and a sweetness that lingers cup after cup.

Our Guapian is grown in the misty Dabie Mountains of Anhui, at 600–800 meters altitude, where fertile soil and cloud cover nurture thick, vibrant leaves. Crafted by tea master Huang Shehua, who has over 30 years of experience, each leaf is carefully roasted by hand to preserve its authentic flavor. Drinking this tea is not only a sensory pleasure, but also a way to connect with centuries of Chinese tea culture and the elegance of tribute teas once served to emperors.
