Lu’an Guapian (六安瓜片) – Famous Chinese Green Tea from Anhui

Lu An Guapian 六安瓜片 (Lù’ān Guāpiàn), also known as Lu An Melon Seed Tea, is one of China’s top ten famous green teas. It originates from Dabie Mountains 大别山 (Dàbié Shān) in Lu An 六安 (Lù’ān), Anhui Province 安徽省 (Ānhuī Shěng).

Unlike most green teas made from buds, Lu An Guapian 六安瓜片 (Lù’ān Guāpiàn) is crafted only from mature tea leaves, giving it a distinctive melon-seed shape and a deeper, more robust flavor.

Through meticulous pan-frying and roasting, this tea produces a bright emerald-green liquor with a smooth, mellow sweetness and a lingering vegetal aroma. Historically, Lu An Guapian 六安瓜片 (Lù’ān Guāpiàn) was praised in The Classic of Tea 茶经 (Chájīng) by Lu Yu 陆羽 (Lù Yǔ) and later honored as an imperial tribute tea 贡茶 (Gòngchá) during the Qing Dynasty 清朝 (Qīng Cháo).

Explore our authentic Lu An Guapian 六安瓜片 (Lù’ān Guāpiàn) collection, carefully sourced from its true origin, and savor a tea that embodies centuries of history, artistry, and refined craftsmanship.
