The "Tan Chun" Sheng Puerh Collection

"Tan Chun" (探春) — literally "seeking spring" — is Chunming Tea's signature annual first-flush raw Puerh, produced without interruption since its debut in 2019. Each spring, tender buds and leaves are hand-picked from Yunnan large-leaf varietal tea trees growing at 1,800–2,400 meters elevation in the Lincang tea region, then crafted following traditional Puerh processing methods.

Every vintage captures a distinct snapshot of that year's early spring — the weather, the timing, the subtle character of the season. Yet the series shares consistent traits across editions: plump, lustrous leaves with visible downy tips, a bright yellow-green infusion, a layered and pronounced aroma, and a full-bodied, sweetly refreshing cup that finishes clean and brisk.

As raw Puerh, these teas are living things. Freshly pressed cakes carry vibrant energy and abundant polyphenols — enjoyable now for their youthful intensity, yet equally suited to long-term cellaring. As the years pass, the character deepens and mellows, developing richer, more complex flavors. This makes each Tan Chun vintage both a tasting experience and a cellar candidate.
