"Tan Chun" — literally "exploring spring" — is Chunming Tea's annual first-flush raw Puerh, produced without interruption since its debut in 2019. Each spring, tender buds and leaves are hand-picked from Yunnan large-leaf varietal tea trees growing at 1,800–2,400 meters in the Lincang tea region, then crafted using traditional Puerh processing methods.
This 2025 edition continues the Tan Chun series' tradition of capturing the first taste of spring. Since dispatch from the factory in Fengqing, Lincang, it has been stored in our Xi'an dry storage under natural conditions. As a freshly pressed raw Puerh in its early transformation stage, the tea's rich internal composition makes it equally rewarding to drink now or to cellar for long-term aging.
The dry leaves are plump and lustrous with visible downy tips. The liquor pours a bright yellow-green, carrying a pronounced, layered aroma. On the palate, the taste is full-bodied and sweet with a clean, refreshing finish. The infused leaves remain thick and luminous — a testament to the ancient tree material's depth and structure.
