Raw Pu-erh Tea (Sheng Pu-erh)
Raw Pu-erh is perhaps the most captivating category in the tea world. It is a "living" tea that evolves every day, shaped by its origin, the age of the trees, and the passage of time. At Orientaleaf, our Raw Pu-erh tea (Sheng Pu-erh) collection is not a mass-market catalog—it is a selection of teas that we, and our community of tea lovers, personally vouch for.
The Xi’an Dry Storage Philosophy: Purity Above All
The transformation of sheng pu erh tea is a delicate marathon. While our teas are born in the high-altitude forests of Yunnan, they are promptly transported to our warehouse in Xi’an for aging.
Why Xi’an? As the historic starting point of the Silk Road, the dry and stable northern climate provides a pristine environment for authentic dry storage. Unlike humid regions that can introduce "damp" or "musty" notes, our aged sheng pu erh matures with incredible clarity. You will find no off-flavors here—only the clean, evolving notes of plum, honey, and camphor that time intended.
Explore the Spectrum of Flavor
Whether you are chasing the vibrant energy of a young leaf or the mellow depth of a vintage cake, we have curated our collection by character:
-
The Energy of Youth: Our young sheng pu erh selections focus on floral aromas and a refreshing, long-lasting "Hui Gan" (returning sweetness). Perfect for those seeking the high antioxidant raw pu-erh tea benefits.
-
Convenience Meets Quality: For a focused session without the need for a tea pick, our raw pu-erh dragon pearls are hand-rolled from premium Maocha. These are ideal for exploring Gong Fu brewing at the office or on the go.
-
Terroir-Driven Selection: From the bold, wild character of Lincang raw pu-erh to the structured bitterness of Menghai, we source from specific micro-lots to ensure every cake tells a true story of its soil.
A Personal Journey of Discovery
Pu-erh is subjective. The way a wild tree raw pu-erh interacts with your water and your palate is a unique experiment. We provide honest tasting notes and production data to act as your guide, but the final experience belongs to you. We don't chase labels or "investment" hype—we simply offer the best raw pu-erh tea that we believe is worth drinking today and years from now.
