GenShe Fu Tea – Vintage Jingyang Fu Brick Tea by Master Jia Genshe

GenShe Fu Tea 根社茯茶 carries forward a lineage deeply rooted in the history of Jingyang Fu Brick Tea. The founder, Jia Genshe (贾根社), is recognized as a National Representative Inheritor of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage for the craft of Fu Tea making (Xianyang Fu Tea technique). His family traces its tea heritage back to the Qing dynasty “Guanshang Maosheng Shop (官商茂盛店),” a historic tea merchant house operated by the Jia family in Jingyang. Today, Jia Genshe stands as the twelfth-generation descendant of that tradition.

When the revival of Shaanxi Fu Tea began around the year 2000, Jia Genshe was among the very first tea makers in Jingyang County to restore and continue the nearly forgotten craft. The teas produced under the GenShe name are also recognized as National Geographical Indication Protected Products, reflecting their authentic regional heritage.

What defines GenShe Fu Tea is patience, tradition, and craftsmanship. Every brick is aged and matured for at least four years through the full production cycle before it ever reaches the market, giving the tea a depth and smoothness rarely found in younger Fu Bricks. The base material is carefully selected Anhua dark tea (Hei Mao Cha) from Hunan, processed using traditional methods and entirely handmade techniques that honor the historical standards of Fu Tea production.
