The name "Tan Chun" translates to "seeking spring" — a fitting title for Chunming Tea's yearly first-harvest raw Puerh, crafted every year without break since first launching in 2019. For each edition, fresh spring buds and foliage are selectively gathered from Yunnan large-leaf cultivar trees nestled at 1,800 to 2,400 meters elevation in the Lincang highlands, then processed following time-honored Puerh techniques.
Marking the ninth consecutive year of the series, this 2026 release captures the vibrant character of early spring. As a freshly pressed raw Puerh at the very beginning of its journey, the tea's rich polyphenol content and ample internal structure point to exceptional aging potential. While enjoyable now for its youthful intensity and brisk sweetness, this cake rewards patient cellaring — its depth and complexity will unfold progressively as the leaves mature and transform over the years.
Expect generously sized, glossy leaves flecked with silvery buds. The brew yields a luminous yellow-green infusion with a deeply fragrant, multi-layered nose. The cup delivers a robust, sweetly rounded body that finishes clean and brisk. Spent leaves unfurl to reveal broad, bright, and resilient texture — clear evidence of the ancient-tree raw material's substance and capacity for long-term development.
