We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

  • Return
    • We offer a guarantee for returns within 14 days of receiving the merchandise. If you change your mind, no worries. Please email help@orientaleaf.com, and we will guide you on returning the item. Make sure to send the package only after contacting us.
    • Special terms:
    1. Returned items must be unused, unopened, and not contaminated.

    2. Promotional products are not eligible for the return policy.

    3. If the return or exchange is due to an error on our part (e.g., wrong item shipped, damaged product), we will cover the return shipping costs. However, if the return or exchange is due to a change of mind or any other reason not related to an error on our part, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping costs.

    4. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

      Please note that the shipping fee shown at checkout may be subsidized by us and does not necessarily reflect the actual shipping cost paid to the carrier.

      In the event of a return or refund, all shipping costs will be calculated based on the actual shipping fees we paid to the shipping carrier, including:

      * the outbound shipping cost paid to send the order to you, and

      * the return shipping cost paid to send the item back to us.

      These actual shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

      Customers are responsible for all return shipping expenses.

      Delivery times for exchanged items may vary depending on your location.

    5. A 50% return processing fee will be charged.

      This fee covers the necessary costs associated with processing returned items, including but not limited to:

      * inspection and quality assessment upon return,

      * re-packaging and re-labeling the product,

      * replacement of inner and outer packaging materials,

      * inventory handling and restocking labor, and

      * administrative and time costs required to make the item resalable.

      As a small, specialized tea business, these processes require significant manual work and resources. The return processing fee helps offset these unavoidable operational costs.

    6. We will process your refund within three days after receiving and verifying your return package.

    • Return/refund Period: The return application period for products is within 14 calendar days after you receive the product.

    • Cancellation Before Shipment: A 25% handling fee for order cancellations before shipment will be charged. This includes fees paid by PayPal/Credit Card and the labor cost of packaging and picking the ordered products.

    • Changes to Orders Before Shipment: We understand the frustration of purchasing incorrectly. However, if you need to change the ordered products before shipment, we can only issue a refund, and PayPal will charge the total order amount. Additionally, we incur extra costs for repackaging your items. Therefore, if you change your order before shipment, unfortunately, we need to charge a 10% fee on the original order, close the initial order, and require you to place a new one.

    • Promotions: We strive to simplify our promotional activities so that you can focus more on selecting products. If you enter or forget to enter a promotional code, don't worry. Contact us, and we will assist you in minimizing the loss.

    • Color Discrepancies: The actual color of the products we sell may have deviations from the pictures due to white balance adjustments. We cannot guarantee a 100% match between the pictures and the items. Therefore, we do not accept color discrepancies as a reason for returns, exchanges, or refunds.

    • Some Older Teas: Packaging of aged Pu-erh, white tea, and Fu tea may have tea material seepage, which is not a defect but a normal condition. This includes white frost on the peel of aged Pu-erh small mandarins, a regular expression of the peel's aging process. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for such cases.

    • In Summary: We conduct thorough checks before shipping to ensure the quality of our products. We do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for reasons other than quality issues.

    • Refund Policy: Only regular-priced items are eligible for refunds; unfortunately, promotional items are non-refundable.

    • Returning Your Products: To return your products, please email help@orientaleaf.com, and we will provide you with the shipping address.

    • Shipping Costs: You are responsible for paying for your shipping costs for returning items. 

    • Tracking and Insurance: If you ship items over $50, consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing insurance. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
